Former Kaduna State senator, Shehu Sani has commended Super Eagles’ captain, Ahmed Musa, for rejoining Kano Pillars to play in the Nigerian local league.
TrillerTunes understands that Musa has been club-less after his contract with Al Nassr ended months ago.
Reports emerged on Tuesday, April 13 that Kano Pillars Football Club have agreed to sign Super Eagles captain for the rest of the season. A statement from the club’s Media Officer, Idris Malikawa, confirmed that the former Leicester City forward will be playing with Pillars for the rest of the season.
The statement read: “Shuaibu said the club management has agreed to sign Ahmed Musa for the rest of the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season,” Malikawa noted.
“He said the club agreed to sign the player after consultations with him and the League Management Company (LMC) which stands as a mediator of the deal,”
“The Kano Pillars family are welcoming Musa back home because he is our own and we wish him the best of luck,” Malikawa said.
In his reaction to the development, Senator Sani in a post on his Twitter today said: “Ahmed Musa’s return to Kano Pillars is one of the best strategy to improve and attract interest in our local football teams and National league. After global come local.
According to him, the player’s return to his former local club is better than hanging and idling in Europe. “There will always be a place for you at home,” Sani added.
