One Modu Ari, a suspected informant of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist group has been arrested in Yobe State.
TrillerTunes understands that Ari was arrested by Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, with claims that the suspect and his accomplices are involved in spying activities and were responsible for attacks on men of the Nigerian Army in the Kamuya area of Yobe.
Confirming Ari’s arrest, the Nigerian Army spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Yerima said the suspect was nabbed by troops of the 27 Task Force Bridge. In a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday, Yerima said that on interrogation, Ari confessed to having revealed troops’ movements and position to his Boko Haram collaborators.
He said in the statement titled, ‘Troops arrest Boko Haram informant, tighten security around Kamuya, Yobe State’ that “Investigation is, however, ongoing to unravel the network of local informants, whose nefarious activities have endangered troops on clearance operations around the fringes of the Timbuktu Triangle.”
