Police nab 40-year-old man for raping 60-year-old woman in Ogun

The Ogun State Command of Nigeria Police one Adesina Adebowale for allegedly raping a 60 years old woman.

According to the police report, the suspect was arrested on Sunday, June 20 following a complaint at Idanyin divisional headquarters by the victim’s son who brought along his violated mother to the station.

The young man is said to have claimed that Adebowale invaded his mother’s room while she was resting in her apartment. The suspect allegedly broke into the house forcefully had carnal knowledge of the old aged woman.

Criminal arrested

The statement made available to newsmen on the matter by DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson of the state police command reads further:

‘Upon the report, the Dpo Idanyin division, CSP Olayinka Kuye, detailed his detectives to go after the suspect. He was subsequently traced and apprehended, while the victim was quickly taken to hospital for medical treatment.

The suspect has made confessional statement that he actually committed the crime. ” the statement added.

Oyeyemi added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to state criminal investigation and intelligence department, for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
