The Pesident of the Senate of Nigeria, Ahmad Lawan, has said that Nigerians have learnt their lessons following the ban on operation of Twitter in Nigeria by the government.
Addressing the press in Abuja earlier in marking his administration’s second year in office, the nation’s number one lawmaker said Twitter needs Nigeria as much the country needs the microblogging platform.
According to Lawan, the issue between Twitter and Federal Government will be resolved soon, TrillerTunes reports.
He said “The Honorable Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has informed Nigerians that the government is talking with Twitter to resolve this matter.
“Our belief is that Nigeria needs Twitter just as much as Twitter needs Nigeria.
“We believe that the matter between Twitter and the Federal Government of Nigeria will be resolved.
“But beyond that, I’m an optimist, I believe all of us will have learnt our lessons.”
